Mercury, asbestos, and leaks: How a bond referendum plans to fix Beaufort County schools

Overcrowding, leaking, and even asbestos are just a few of the issues that plague schools in Beaufort County. But the Citizens for Better Schools Now! Organization is trying to ensure these problems are resolved for students and faculty soon.

“Education funding is vital for everyone in the community,” Srutek said. “It benefits you even if you’re retired and you don’t have kids or you’re a young person and you don’t have children in the school district. With better education comes a better economy.”
